farm stand season
With Spring in bloom and lots of farm stores ready for the season, I wanted to highlight some of my local favorites!
Farmstand on Lucy, Marshville - Farmstand on Lucy is about to open for their second season. They carry various homemade wellness products and home items like candles and room spray. They also include homemade baked goods such as cookies and pound cake. Two of their most popular items are their duck eggs and homemade sauerkraut. You can find their items at Bountiful Blessings, The She Shed, and of course their personal farm stand located at 2717 Lucy Short cut Rd. Marshville, NC.
Bountiful Blessings, Unionville - Bountiful Blessings has grown a lot in the past two years. They carry a variety of homegrown seasonal produce, and even have pumpkins and Christmas trees seasonally. They have added two new buildings, one containing freezers holding meats, cheeses, baked goods, goat milk, eggs, coffee creamers, baked good mixes and more! They have a ton of pre-made items like tortillas, bulk canned veggies, and pies that customers can take and bake. Canned jams, jellies, produce and sauces/dressings are also available. Bountiful Blessings also carries holistic items like elderberry syrup, tinctures, soaps and beef tallow. They are located at 4702 Concord Hwy Monroe, NC.
Red Barn Farm, Stanfield - Red Barn Farm carries many forms of their own meat. They raise livestock and highlight many products such as ground beef, pork links, chicken breasts, cube steak, hot dogs, whole chicken. Their most popular deals are their weekly "meal deals" where they pair 3-5 meats with local cheeses, produce, baked goods, and even their chocolate milk! Red Barn also carries wellness products and homemade honey. Check out their social media @redbarnfarmnc to see more info. They are located at 2111 Quiet Cove Ln. Stanfield, NC.
Sprouting Acres, Oakboro - Sprouting Acres is a new farm store located 16489 Silver Rd. Oakboro, NC. They carry fresh produce, like their homegrown lettuce, spinach, green onions, kale, beets, turnips, carrots and potatoes. They have raw milk available and ready-meals such as chicken pot pies and pasta dishes. Baked goods from Sassy Cakes Bakery are in stock, and they have gluten-free items! Cheese curds, homemade salad dressings, old school brand mixes, and meats. Their Facebook account contains their hours and what they have on hand.
Timber Tamer Sawmilling, Olive Branch - Timber Tamer is a local custom sawmill that cuts various sizes of lumber. The lumber has been used for many things such as interior wall siding, tables, counter tops, floors, timber-frame buildings and even sawed wood for a few of these farm stores! Timber Tamer takes custom orders and takes old wood that people need to get rid of. They are open six days a week and a good phone number to contact is 704-221-1104.
The She Shed, Marshville - The She Shed recently opened right off of Main Street in Marshville. They have a large space with vendor booths. The vendors sell antique items, kids and adult clothing, home goods and more. They have lots of home decor for sale such as porch signs, vintage pieces and custom art pieces. Some highlights from my visit were the antique decor and the home good items like homemade laundry detergent and tallow based self-care items. The She Shed also carries jewelry and food items like jam and syrups.
